Life: The Game, Strategy, and TriviaLife is a board game that was created in 1860 by Milton Bradley. At that time, the game was known as “The Checkered Game of Life.” At this time, the official name of this board game is The Game of Life. But no matter what you call this game, it is safe to say that it will always be one of the most popular among people of all age groups. After all, it has been going strong for almost 150 years, and there is no sign of it slowing down just yet. In most cases, two to six players can play at the same time. But with that being said, there are special rules that can be used in order to accommodate up to 10 players. As you can imagine, this makes Life a very popular board game among big families or larger groups of people who are looking for a way to spend time together. The setup of Life will take you approximately 15 minutes. This is due in large part to the many pieces that come with the game. The main part of Life is the actual board that you play on. This consists of a track where each player will move his or her piece. A spinning wheel located in the middle of the board will tell each player how many spaces they are allowed to move at any one time. In addition, other items such as buildings and mountains are included so that the board itself is not flat. This gives the game of Life a much more realistic look and feel. You may not think that this is important, but in the long run it makes the game much more enjoyable. Each game also includes money for the bank, promissory notes, insurance policies such as life, fire, car, and of course, imitation money. Keeping track of all of these items is very important. After all, if you lose any of them you are going to have a hard time playing the game. The actual playing pieces for the game of Life are unique. They are small colored cars with holes in them. Pegs are placed into these holes as each player has children, gets married, etc. Many versions of the game have been released over the years. The most recent release was in 2005, but this version only had a few updates over the last format in 1992. Of course, since life and economics have changed so much over the years, it only makes sense that the board game continues to change as well. But when it comes down to it, the winner will always be the person who has the most money at the end of the game. The game of Life is suitable for anybody who can count. Although it may not be the most competitive game, it is a lot of fun for anybody who likes board games. |
